INFLUENCER DEEPICA MUTYALA RAISES A SEED ROUND FOR LIVE TINTED

Influencer Deepica Mutyala has raised a seed round of funding for her beauty brand and platform Live Tinted from a group of powerhouse beauty investors like Bobbi Brown and Birchbox cofounder Hayley Barna, according to WWD.

WHO: Deepica Mutyala launched her beauty career in 2015 on YouTube creating makeup tutorials in hopes of helping women feel like they belong. In 2018, she founded Live Tinted, an inclusive beauty community for “every shade in between.” Earlier this year, she expanded the platform and launched her first Live Tinted cosmetic product, The Huestick.

WHY:The funding will fuel product development, expand the team, build more engagement tools on the Live Tinted web site, and aid in launching internationally.

  • Investors in the round included Bobbi Brown; Birchbox cofounder Hayley Barna; Payal Kadakia, cofounder of ClassPass; Jaclyn Johnson, founder of Create and Cultivate; Shilpa Shah, cofounder of Cuyana; Allison Statter and Sherry Jhawar, founders of Blended Strategy Group; and Shivani Siroya, founder of Tala. The business also has the backing of Female Founders Fund, Halogen Ventures, and XFactor Ventures.
  • Mutyala plans to build out Live Tinted’s product assortment with the new influx of capital.
